Identifying our priorities

In order to identify the most relevant economic, social and environmental issues to address, the Company, with the involvement of the Company management, conducted an analysis that allowed to identify 9 priority issues based on the impacts that they generate or could generate on the environment and the community, as well as on the risks and opportunities that could influence the ability to create corporate value.

Environmental protection

The management of environmental aspects and their impacts is guided by the Environmental Management System certified according to the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 standard, as well as by the regulatory provisions of the Seveso II Directive.

To further strengthen environmental protection, Galstaff Multiresine S.p.A. has undertaken important actions aimed at: increasing the use of raw materials from renewable sources and bio sources, and replacing raw materials of fossil origin where possible; implementing new production processes that are less energy-intensive and with better industrial performance; reconsidering the supply chain to reduce the carbon footprint.

Our Commitment

In light of the energy diagnosis at its sites, Galstaff Multiresine S.p.A. has launched a series of initiatives to promote the reduction of its energy consumption, including, for example, an initiative to improve thermal energy efficiency and optimize logistics for the Garbagnate Milanese production site.

In addition, the Company is carrying out a project to replace all incandescent light bulbs in the offices with LED light bulbs and to adopt new boiler management practices to remodulate heat generation based on the work in progress.

Within the Environmental Management System, particular attention is paid to waste, the management of which is aimed at recovery or reuse where possible.
The main waste produced by Galstaff Multiresine S.p.A. consists of process reaction waters, single-use solvents, used oils, waste resins generated at the end of production or gelled resins.

Both the Mornago and Garbagnate Milanese sites are equipped with a waste incinerator, otherwise known as “thermal destruction plants” to which the ‘resin production waters’ and the ‘reaction waters’ are destined.

The presence of incinerators and the possibility of disposing of waste directly on the production site, allows to considerably reduce the quantities of waste disposed of by third parties, and consequently the emissions deriving from the transport of waste by authorised transporters.
